Beyond the frosted look, the sandblasting gives the tube a bit more grip when your hands are wet, on top of hiding minor fingerprints better than plain clear glass.

It takes a bit more cleaning solution and a longer soak to reach the full length, but the process is otherwise the same as any straight or beaker tube.
