Dump out the old water, pull the bowl and downstem, and run isopropyl alcohol with coarse salt through the base and neck. Give it a good shake, let it sit a few minutes to break down resin, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Doing this every week or two keeps the glass clear and your hits tasting clean.

It ships fully equipped with a matching diffuser downstem and pull-out bowl, so you can start packing immediately — check the specs table for exact measurements if you're shopping for a replacement down the line.

Fill it just enough to submerge the downstem slit by about half an inch. Too little water won't filter properly, and too much can lead to splashback into your mouth. Start low and add a bit at a time until your hits feel smooth.

The wider base holds more water and gives smoke more surface area to filter through before it reaches you, which usually means a cooler, smoother hit. Beaker shapes also tend to sit more stable on a table since the weight is lower and spread out.
