At 6.2 inches this is one of the smallest rigs Calibear makes, and the egg body is what lets it work. A rounded chamber gives vapor somewhere to expand and swirl after the Flower of Life perc has broken it up, which buys cooling that a straight-sided rig this short simply cannot manage. The wig wag colourwork runs through the glass in bands rather than sitting on the surface, so it moves with the curve of the egg rather than wrapping a flat wall. Borosilicate throughout, in five colourways.

Is 6.2 inches too small to work properly?

It works, but you have to use it accordingly. The egg chamber and the perc do most of what height would otherwise do. Take smaller dabs rather than loading it like a nine inch rig and it stays comfortable.

Does it get warm over several dabs?

Faster than a taller rig, yes. There is less water and less distance, so heat builds across a session. Giving it a moment between dabs, or changing the water partway through, both help more than people expect.

Why does wig wag look different on an egg shape?

The bands follow the curve as the glass is blown out, so the pattern stretches and moves rather than running in straight lines. It is harder to control than wig wag on a straight tube, which is why the results vary more between pieces.

Does the rounded body make it unstable?

No, it stands on a proper foot rather than the curve. Being short and wide it is one of the steadier rigs in the range. The width is worth measuring though if it is going somewhere tight, since it is broader than its height suggests.
