Meet Jane West: A Pioneer in Cannabis Culture

Jane West isn’t just a cannabis advocate—she’s a trailblazer who’s helped reshape the industry. A proud daily cannabis consumer, Jane has always appreciated the plant’s aroma, flavor, and the way it enhances life. For her, smoking flower remains the most reliable and fast-acting method of consumption.

Her journey into the cannabis space began in 2013 when she founded Edible Events Company, a series of sophisticated, cannabis-friendly cocktail parties designed to normalize consumption. These events, held in Denver art galleries, featured live music, gourmet food, and a community of like-minded adults celebrating legalization. The media quickly took notice, with features on Nightline and CNBC. However, her outspoken advocacy had consequences—after a CNBC appearance promoting cannabis use, she was asked to resign from her corporate event planning job of eight years.

Pushing the boundaries of legal social consumption, Jane’s events drew both public attention and legal scrutiny. In 2014, her 4/20 brunch was raided by a SWAT team, resulting in criminal charges, probation, and a ban on hosting cannabis-friendly gatherings in Denver.

Despite the setback, her influence continued to grow. Women across the country began reaching out, seeking guidance on how to break into the cannabis industry. With no official job in the sector—just experience, passion, and a fresh criminal record—Jane wasn’t sure she had all the answers. But what she did have was an ability to organize and bring people together.

In 2014, she founded Women Grow, a networking platform designed to empower women in cannabis. The response was overwhelming—over 100,000 people have since attended Women Grow events, proving the demand for female leadership in the space. After two years of building the movement, Jane pivoted again, setting out to create something personal: a line of stylish, high-quality cannabis accessories for flower lovers like herself.

Her vision? A sophisticated collection of glassware, dugouts, and one-hitters that fit seamlessly into everyday life. She built her company on the values of inclusivity and representation, securing funding from small investors and ensuring that 80% of the company is owned by women and people of color. Through equity crowdfunding, she invited people worldwide to become part of the Jane West brand.

Now, her mission is clear: to make life Better with Jane. Through thoughtfully designed products and a commitment to community, she’s redefining what cannabis culture looks like—one piece at a time.
