EA's highly anticipated sequel to the popular Battlefront franchise is getting a lot of heat. A fan recently calculated that it would take 4,528 hours OR $2,100 to unlock all content. This has caused widespread uproar on EA's motive to get the player to buy loot crates and spend money on micro-transactions to progress and gain a competitive advantage. We created a map by using geotagged Twitter data from over 100,000 posts to illustrate which states had the angriest gamers.

In response, EA has dropped the price of unlocks by 75% due to the backlash.
Although it's nice to see EA listening to the community and reacting quickly, but it's disappointing that so many companies these days are so greedy. As a gamer, I don't want to pay $60 for a game with only 50% or less of the complete content!
Let this be a lesson learned for other video game developers, greed is the path to the dark side. Greed leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to angry gamers that will kill your quarterly earnings report.
